Web marketing Tools – Podcasts Are a Fun Way to Generate Traffic

Lots of folk get twitchy when I mention that podcasting is a good way to generate traffic…they don’t know what they’ll talk about…they think that they must be the guru on a handful of different topics.  They are afraid they are going to sound truly stupid…sound familiar?  Well, let me reassure you, it is easy to come up with ideas for podcasts AND you do not have to be the expert…you can still use podcasting as one of your internet marketing tools-and you can relax and have fun while you do!

Getting Ideas for subjects

Just like your other internet marketing tools, you wish to know what folk have an interest in, right?  So, you can generate ideas in lots of other ways.

You could of course do a survey…a basic ASK campaign or SurveyMonkey or whatever.  You can ask in your podcast, like perhaps at the end of one you ask people to tell you what they’d like to learn about next.

You will have lots and lots of ideas that you can create your next podcasts on…and folks love it when they know they are being heard…that their ideas or questions are being addressed.

You do not have to know it All

You have asked your listeners to tell you what they need to be told about in your niche…what if they come up with ideas that you are not expert in?  That’s’s okay…you can follow the Napoleon Hill system of interviewing someone who is an expert.

Nobody expects you to know everything…they will expect that if you’re interviewing somebody you have checked them out and THEY do know what they are talking about.

This is essentially a very cool methodology of doing a podcast because you can put yourself in your listeners’ shoes and ask the questions that they need to know.  That makes for great interaction.  Having 2 folk on the call can be really great, it can give lots of energy to a call which makes it more interesting for the listeners.

So you don’t have to be the expert…you just find someone that is and you talk to them.

Go world

And don’t think that you have to find someone locally either.  One of the cool things about online marketing and podcasting is that we deal with people all around the globe.

So whether it is for an one off special interview or a sequence of podcasts you can literally have your podcast partner be across the country or half-way around the world!

You do not want to be right beside the person…you can record your podcast on Skype and the quality is fantastic…they’ll sound like they are right next to you.

Be Yourself

You do not have to be a pro radio announcer to do a podcast…you are better off just relaxing about it and talking.  Some of the most well liked podcasts are just that-two folk casually talking about a subject.

It might be two people talking about the most recent tech gadget or it might be two moms chatting about the challenges they’re facing raising their kids.

Go ahead and do 2 podcasts…get the trick down pat and have a giraffe.  Just relax and be yourself…talk to somebody else if you aren’t very experienced on the topic…and let your listeners direct you on future subjects.  This is truly one of the coolest, most fun internet marketing tools because it truly can just be a lot of fun!

Targeted web Site Traffic -Save Time & Money

Website Promotion Video

Here is another fantastic way to get your name “out-there” and get people visiting your website.

PodCasting!

Podcasting is Audio (and/or Video) that you create on your computer (or via other means, and then load into your computer) that you then share and allow other people to listen and/or view.

There are large numbers of Podcasting sites that allow you to upload your audio or video presentation, and then attach a description and information about the presentation. Once this is done, people who visit these podcast sites can “find” your podcast and hopefully if it is interesting enough to them, they will subscribe to your “feed” (similar to a mailing list, but for audio/video) and then be automatically notified whenever you release a new audio or video.

Now generally the “feed” is not controlled by you (unlike a regular mailing list) but rather is controlled by the podcast directory and a podcast “reader” which is software (often free) that you can use to automatically check whether new content is available for your selected “feeds” and to then get downloaded automatically.

You can then watch or listen to the downloaded presentation at your leisure, copy to your iPod, etc. It’s really pretty cool.

One of the biggest names in PodCasting is iTunes. No doubt you’ve heard of iTunes and maybe wonder what it is. iTunes is software that is supplied by Apple (the Mac people) that you can download for free and it will manage all your podcast “feeds” as well as your music and video collection on your computer, and even allow you to buy music (and podcasts) via it’s iTunes store.

Apple have versions of iTunes for both Windows and Mac and it is completely free to download.

Now iTunes is big business, ten of thousands of people download from it every day, so this is probably the first site you should try and get your podcast listed on.

Many people claim to be experts in the area of targeted website traffic. We suggest you do some careful research yourself first before jumping in.

But I’m getting ahead of myself, first things first, lets discuss what you could be putting into the audio / video.

If your like me, and have a great face for radio, don’t despair. You don’t necessarily need to produce video content, audio is perfectly acceptable for many subscribers, as it’s something you can do (listen to) anywhere (although with video iPods available these days this is also true for Video).

First and foremost you presentation should be adding value to your listeners/viewers. A hard sell sales presentation won’t be worth much to listeners/viewers (at least probably not to those who’s first experience of you is via the audio/video), rather it should be quality relevant content that will appeal to listeners with an interest in your niche market.

Bear in mind that it’s highly likely that when you upload a presentation for inclusion in iTunes, it will be reviewed manually by a human, and if it’s just a hyped up call to action to buy something chances are they may not approve it for inclusion. And even if they did approve it, listeners are going to be turned off when they hear it especially if you have not previously built up a relationship with them.

I suggest an interview is a great idea for a podcast. Put together a set of questions and answers to common problems that you “solve” on your website, and have some one interview you. Save the audio and upload to iTunes!

Another idea (once you get a few podcasts completed) is an overview of your product or services, but again not a hard sell, but a detailed list of what you can do or case studies on how you have helped other customers previously.

Just remember it needs to be interesting to listen to, so make sure you target it to your customers needs and to be solving problems that your potential customers may be facing.

You may find iTunes wants a series of podcasts before adding you to their directory, so it would be sensible to do 2-3 podcasts if possible and then submit them for inclusion as a group.

If you plan to host your podcasts yourself, be very careful and consider if you have another bandwidth to do so, particularly if your feeds get picked up by lots of people.

Because of the nature of podcasts (audio or video) the files can end up being huge, so It’s very important that you plan this out in advance as you may find once you get successful and have a reasonable number of people listening to your podcasts, that you will be putting your server in meltdown and be running out of quota. This could mean your ISP closes down your website!

Don’t be victim to this, plan for growth on day 1, and assume you are going to be successful and put the right steps in place so you have sufficient bandwidth when things take off.

Either put all your efforts into getting listed in iTunes or other large Podcast sites, or if your going to do it yourself, invest in a reasonable PodCast hosting company who specializes in Podcasts.

A decent alternative to iTunes for hosting your iTunes (especially if your have trouble getting iTunes to actually accept your podcasts is a company called Liberated Syndication. I suggest you check out their website, they are one of the best out there, and give outstanding value for money and in some cases it’s free.

Remember all podcasters had to start somewhere, and some of the bigger ones actually have paid advertising now (where sponsors pay the podcaster for an advertisement to be placed in the podcast). This could end up to be a really nice little money earner for you as well as provide great value for your listeners.

A Harry Potter Audio Book

Although the popularity of audio books is quickly catching on around the world, there is still such a huge majority of people who have never tried reading this way. Getting a Harry Potter audio book CD so that you can read a book without actually having to read it yourself is really a great idea, because then you can do other things, while you are listening to the book.

Many people find this useful because they can listen to the Harry Potter audio book or other of their choice, while they are doing the dishes or running other errands around the house, and even out if they are wearing headphones and listening to it. Maybe you just want to listen to a Harry Potter audio book for pleasure, or you have to read a Harry Potter audio book for educational or even career purpose, and either way, you are going to find it easier than ever when you have it in audio form.

Trying a Harry Potter audio book is also going to be a lot of fun if you have never tried it before. This is something new and you are sure to really enjoy it. There are audio books for pretty much every text book out there today, but it can often take some time to browse around at different audio book stores to find the downloads or CDs that you want.

Where to Shop For Harry Potter Audio Book

If you want to find a Harry Potter audio book, Random House is a great place to head to if you wanted to find the books either in text or audio form. One can get the new Harry Potter books as they are released at this store.

The Simply Audiobooks store provides free downloads. They offer the entire Harry Potter audio book set for free, and they will be releasing the next books as they become available.

There are lots of other great places that you could head to as well if you wanted to find the Harry Potter audio book set, and this means that you can start listening to the books right away. Everyone who tries the audio books really enjoys them and it really just gives you more opportunity to start reading all your favorite books again.

BREAKING NEWS: Assistance for all Wordpress Blog Owners

About me

I am self educated and have closely followed the evolution of Internet Marketing for just over five years. I get tens of questions on my blog every day from Internet marketers of all levels of experience. I know what it is like to struggle financially, pay the bills and feed a family so I do this for money (because I have a family to support) and to help others in a similar situation.

From my work I find that probably 50% of the Internet marketing community are honest people but the issue is a significant number of them are not very good at what they do and teach. Up until now I have been distributing my reviews on a variety of of blogs and sites whose owners have asked me to contribute content about my findings to their sites.

Over 600 reviews

Over a five year period I have reviewed more than 600 products and I will only be publishing reviews on products that are still on the market. Every product I write about has been thoroughly tested by me and I either continue to use it all or some of the time.

Simple to use and organised index

I am really keen for every visitor who visits website gets some help so I am making sure that every ‘product’ summary is typed in terms of what they can expect to spend, the level of experience they will need, how much effort they should spend and how long it normally take to see some results.

First Edition – The ‘blueprint’ for Wordpress blog success

The first subject I’m going to write about is Wordpress Blogs as this is not just a great place for newbies to begin but a lot of blog owners don’t appreciate the opportunities they are missing. Everyone should have a blog and I am passionate about blogging as a significant amount of my income comes from blogs but and however I am conscious that installing a blog can be a little bit tricky so if you join my list I will walk you through step by step how to do it.

Create once and replicate

The amazing thing about blogs is once you appreciate how they really can work and make money you simply replicate the blog mechanics over and over again to multiply your income stream. I have a fundamental rule of ‘getting a rope across the river’ before commencing on any large amount of work so I always start with creating a ’concept car’ that I develop into a blueprint that I can try out, improve and copy, to do this you have to really understand what methods and tools you need to use.

No bullshit, just answers.

So if you own a Wordpress blog or you want some real assistance with your choice of Internet Marketing products then please do sign up to my list at www.backlinksclinic.com.

See you there

Podcasting to Sell Your Book – New Writers

Podcasting in Plain English

Podcasting is a great way to go for home based internet marketing businesses. They are easy to make, really inexpensive to do and surprisingly fast to get started. Like any other tool you are going to use, online or offline, you just need to make sure to have everything really clear and go through it step by step. I found getting my first podcast started was easier than getting my first blog going! So let’s talk about the steps that you need to go through to get your first podcast started.

Yes, there are some outstanding sound effect collections available, but seriously, I can’t spend $99 or $199 on sounds. There are talented podcasters and multimedia producters out there who just can’t afford the expensive stuff.

Luckily, the technology that allows everyday guys to record podcasts also allows creative foley artists and recordists to digitally record their own high quality sound effects. Typically if I need a sound I just record my own with my own equipment and get what I want for free.

But there are some sounds that you just can’t do at the drop of a hat, and the work and time involved makes you start looking again for a library of sounds to pick and choose from. Well, I found a collection of 201 sounds on CD that are great for a wide range of applications.

One of the most effective ways to establish the know, like and trust factor is with podcasting, a simple recording of a conversation that you give monologue or via an interview of an important person. The material on the recording can prove valuable to your prospects, and if the recording is created as serial content – where every recording is interconnected with the following ones – the writer can literally create pent up desire to stay in touch and follow the authors writings and recordings.

Now you have your first podcast out of the way! That first one is always going to be the worst one…so get it over with! Each time you do a podcast you will learn more, get more comfortable and they will just get better and better. After you have done a couple you won’t even think about it-it really is that simple.

You are also going to want to use a pinging service, like ping-o-matic to ping your podcast after it is done. That just send out the RSS feed to all the different pinging or RSS and blog services to let them know you’ve updated your podcast.

Remote Working Part 3 – My list of essentials

Quickbooks Login

self management more….

Before I show you my arsenal of really good net tools that are sure to assist you to work remotely, I must discuss one more issue connected with self discipline and especially to do with keeping your focus and levels of concentration

I’ve discovered and established a consistent trait in friends who work on the Internet and I’ve been in contact with for some time and I call this behavior the fifty minute effect. I spotted these colleagues who apply themselves and work for fifty mins. and then make themselves take a whole ten minute break and are a significant order of magnitude more productive and generate a substantially greater quality of work than acquaintances who don’t have set working methods.

OK as promised for your consideration is my list of preferred remote working online services:

Electronic Mail

Google Mail has a price tag of zero. In my experience the search and label (categories) functions are second to none. The downside is it can be a bit slow on older machines

Phone calls

Skype
continually perplexed me as the connection quality and reliability was unacceptable, but all credit to the coders at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For just a few bucks a quarter they enable me to call and conference in any handset and Skype subscriber in the world. The latest edition of Skype has a wealth of really good features and there constantly expanding collection of valuable add ons.

Organising Content

Evernote
has secured over a million users in a very short space of time – it enables you to store, organise and add notes to any type of digital media on the net. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You almost certainly know that my dream to work remotely was originally inspired by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software web application. But it is no match for the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a toaster I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.

Remote Working Part 2 – Fundamental behaviours – Basic discipline

Quickbooks online edition

The most cited reason individuals fail to succeed at operating remotely is they don’t recognise the essential requirement of excellent organisation and robust self discipline.

I have been working remotely for nearly 8 yrs since I first discovered Quickbooks online an ‘on demand’ small business accounting software service and was struck by the fact that if you can perform accounting on the web then why shouldn’t it be workable to do other important types of work at a distance?

Whilst working remotely has substantial gains there are numerous mistakes that people make which turn into problems that cause lower work output and lower motivation. The key reason for low productivity in remote workers is interruption and it is a verified and well known fact that it can take a worker up to twenty minutes to return to their original productivity level after experiencing a disturbance.

Deeper insights reveal that individuals who are continuously affected by distractions are more likely to be susceptible to reduced memory capacity and are prone to developing mental health issues in later life. We exist in an over communicated time and it is important that you are acquainted with the problems this causes before you begin working remotely. Whilst working remotely you must do everything feasible to reduce the probability of being distracted.

Here are my most important tips:

1, Get a routine, make sure that everybody knows it and stick to it!

Good examples are a specific time of day when you look at or send electronic mail and make or receive telephone calls. Before I began working remotely I used to receive nearly hundreds of electronic mails in 24 hours. Now I think I am unfortunate if I receive more than four. To start over with my electronic mail experience I changed my e-mail address and obsessively took steps to defend the details being passed on to anyone. I then educated every individual who I gave my e-mail address to, to use it with special care. I also created an automatic response that swiftly informed anyone sending me mail my routine for attending to mail and if an e-mail must have my immediate attention to mark it as ‘Urgent’.

2. Get rid of alerts.

Turn off absolutely everything that can send you a visual or audible alert. This includes portable and
conventional telephones and types of alerts from electronic mail such as visual alerts, beeps, screen changes to your inbox list and of course facing a window. Get a door on your work place and put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign on it.

In ‘Remote Working Part 3 – Essential tools’ I will reveal my favourite tools and software.

Remote Working Part 1 – The essential guide to working from anywhere (Intro)

Quickbooks online

Obviously not all of us is allowed to work remotely as many types of employment require individuals to be at their office or travel to undertake their tasks in person. But for those of us who can or want to work remotely then I thought it would be useful to share what I have learned and give some practical advice by distributing it on the web in the hope that I could give others helpful advice for adapting to remote working or supervising remote workers.

I must tell you you that there are many people online who will try and persuade you to purchase guides for preposterous sums of money, believe me you don’t have to do this.

I am lucky enough to be permitted to work anywhere I choose and just about everyone who asks me what work I do wants to understand how I am able to work remotely. Don’t get me wrong here I am still refining the science of remote working as each day I encounter people online who show me new approaches and I am continually uncovering new tools and ways that make my life easier and make me more effective.

During the past seven years I have slowly but surely adapted my working practices to enable me to do most of my work remotely with a kit of web tools and solid self discipline. One late night whilst searching the net I uncovered Quickbooks online and this made me think about what just might be possible. My discovery of web based ‘on demand’ small business accounting software was a pivotal moment for me and the beginning of my ‘remote working life.

I want to state up front that effectively working remotely is as much about the tools as it is about self management. Working remotely also means imparting to your team members, superiors and customers as to what they can expect and how they will interact with you.

In ‘Remote Working Part 2 – Best practises’ I discuss how to focus.

Enjoy Audio Books With Audio Books Online Rental Services

If audio books are are your passion and you end up spending a lot on them because you think that there is no alternative then you needed to pause and think again. The simple fact is that you need not spend all your money on buying new audio books because there are better and more effective options available to anyone that cares to find out. For example, audio books online rentals are a wonderful means of getting your favorite author’s books without spending a lot of money in buying the audio book and listening to it once after which it will gather dust by becoming a part of your library.

Unlimited Rentals Of Audio Books Online

Some of the best deals are available to anyone that cares to check out how audio books online rentals work. Some of the better rental companies will even offer you bonuses such as unlimited rentals and no due dates as well as huge variety of downloads and best of all very reasonable prices. It is quite simple to take advantage of an audio books online rental company and you only need to ensure that the rental service provides you with the kind of audio books that you want to listen to before becoming a member.

Good audio books online rental services will provide you with an opportunity to borrow certain amounts of books each month. Few rental services will even offer unlimited borrowing but not all will. By choosing audio books online rental services you can put a cap on how much money you wish to spend on your audio books and this means being more selective about what you borrow which is good because you won’t waste your time on listening to books that don’t really excite the senses.

Another reason why you should choose audio books online rentals instead of purchasing a copy of an audio book is that you must be the sort of person that believes in spending your money wisely. You will also be someone that does not wish to keep too many things around your home and you are also not a real collector of items. And, you won’t be someone that is given to re-reading their audio books. If you are this type then you may very well pay the list price; instead, just borrow it and then be done with the whole thing after having heard the last word read out to you.

It certainly pays to order audio books online. If you are a person with limited spare time then all you need to do is visit one of the major online audio book stores and select one or more audio books that interests you; pay for it and then wait for the order to be shipped to you. Mostly, you won’t need to commute to a shop to do your shopping or even your borrowing and by putting the power of the Internet to get what you want in less than five minutes you won’t need to be worried about not having time to find some good audio books.
